Michael Dougherty is a senior financial professional with over 25 years of international banking and consulting experience. Michael’s expertise includes FX and Emerging Markets, Fixed Income products as well as Equity products. He has experience working with business partners developing and executing a business strategy while complying with multiple regulatory regimes (CFTC, NFA, FINRA, SEC and MiFID).
She has held various roles in the Operations function and the COO Office at NatWest Markets, US. Most recently she was Director and the Business Manager to the US COO. In addition, Kelly oversaw the integration of the Operations team into the COO and Finance functions resulting in a successful transition with no impact on client support, business services, and staff engagement.
Kelly sponsored various projects: in coordination with the London team, she addressed an inefficient cost model and reporting process; she delivered a new global standard for allocating expenses in a transparent and easy to understand format; she created a robust governance framework that ensured NatWest Markets was compliant with the CFTC’s Swap Dealer requirements; she completed a Swap Dealer non-compliance remediation.
Kelly’s expertise extends to culture transformation where she launched and the managed regional program to address low staff morale caused by the firm’s significant restructurings. The program focused on talent development, diversity and inclusion, staff recognition, wellbeing, and team building and was extended after significant success in its first year.
Kelly is results-driven and utilizes strong organizational, planning and communication skills to ensure deadlines are met. She is recognized for relationship building, collaboration, and a strong ownership mentality.
She has a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers College, where she majored in Management and minored in Religion.
