Paul has worked for over 30 years in the financial markets in senior front office roles in major Buy- and Sell-side organizations. He has broad international experience having worked across multiple jurisdictions, business area and product areas with hands-on experience of all major Fixed Income products. Paul is a client-centric, strategic leader with the ability to successfully build inclusive, well-governed and resilient businesses with a proven track record of success.
At Paul’s most recent position as Global Head of Sales for MUFG, he evolved the Client franchise by refocusing the business on its core competencies and integrating the Securities Sales business with the Bank to deliver products and services to meet MUFG’s client’s needs growing the business by 80% in three years.
In 2016 Paul worked for Treliant Risk Advisors on the ‘Monitorship’ (Skilled Person) team as a result of the Consent Order between the New York Department of Financial Services (DFS) and Deutsche Bank AG on their Governance, Compliance, and Controls remediation program for global Interest Rate Benchmarks (including LIBOR).
From 2010 – 2015 Paul was Head of Institutional Relationship Management at RBS leading the Bank change of business model to a client-centric one, evolving products and services to meet the needs of key clients. He coordinated activities across Markets and Banking, building a commercial business that was at the core of the Bank’s offering.
From 1991 to 2009 Paul held a number of senior positions at Fidelity Investments both in the US and the UK. He started in Boston where he worked his way up to Head of US Fixed Income Trading, evolving the trading desks from an execution desk to Alpha generators, trading all fixed income products. He moved to London as Head of International Trading, ultimately becoming a senior portfolio manager and CIO for the Euro-Bond business, growing their assets under management from $500m to $5bn in his time there.
Paul has a Bsc (mgmt), an MA(finance) and is a member of the Chartered Global Management Accounts (CGMA, CPA).
