Catherine (Cathy) Cullen is a seasoned financial services professional with over 30 years experience in the industry, managing global teams and projects and specializing in Operational Risk Management strategies, platforms and build-outs.
Cathy served as Global Head of Operational Risk Management and Head of Risk Americas for ICAP, the markets utility and leading brokerage firm that owns and operates both Broker Tec and EBS, from 2012-2014.
Previously, Cathy was Global Head of Operational Risk and Control Self Assessments and Incident Management for Barclays Capital, based in New York from 2006-2012.
She also developed and built the Operational Risk platform and function for the Royal Bank of Scotland in the Americas from 2003 to 2006.
While based in New York, Cathy’s early career focused on global initiatives where she led and project managed technology, business continuity and integration programs for Chase Manhattan Bank, Bankers Trust, and NatWest. Of note, Cathy was responsible for project managing NatWest North America’s business and technology Y2K initiative and NatWest’s subsequent migration to, and integration with, RBS businesses and systems in North America.
In addition, Cathy was involved in developing and implementing a risk culture and conduct program across Credit Suisse Americas in 2016.
As a consultant for Treliant from 2017-2019, Cathy developed and installed Operational Risk platforms for FinTech clients and built out the Risk policies and procedures for a new and expanded Markets business at a California bank.
Cathy has served as a risk subject matter expert and presenter at a number of Risk Management conferences in the U.S. and abroad. She was recognized and named Woman of the Year in 2012/2013 by the National Association of Professional Women and holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a concentration in Computer Science from Hofstra University.
